Columbia Nights and Jenna Camille are GOLDEN BROWNE. After the critically acclaimed production trio connected with the multi-hyphenate artist through DC’s independent music scene, the crew nurtured a musical kinship for several years leading up to their first release. A shared love of 70s soul and 90s R&B led to extended listening sessions that forged their sound.
Equal parts composers and cratediggers, Columbia Nights (co-producers John E Daise, Jason “BrotherSpanky” Edwards and Hayling Price) provide Jenna with vinyl-tinged hip-hop soul for her autobiographical songwriting. Breakbeats, vintage synths, and tuneful basslines create the soundscape for Jenna’s intimate reflections and honest meditations. After sharing a series of one-minute quarantine jams entitled Bright Moments, the group is releasing its self-titled debut LP via HiPNOTT Records. credits
Tanya Morgan have returned with their fifth full length album titled "Don & Von". This time the duo steps from behind the odd moniker to show listeners that they exist in a world of their own. The 12 track album tackles a wide range of topics including their tenure in the game, police brutality and being black in America.
Don & Von features guest vocals by Jack Davey, Kooley High, MoRuf, Nappy Nina & Rob Cave and boasts production by Von Pea, Donwill, Brick Beats, dane.zone, Clint Taylor and Aeon. Clocking in at about 45 minutes the album is a great point of entry for the uninitiated, a solid refresher for anyone who may have forgotten and an instant classic for die hard fans.
Chicago emcee Verbal Kent and DC based producers The Other Guys bring you their first collaborative effort "Blade of The Short Cut" The album features fellow Ugly Heroes member Chris Orrick, and also features a remix by the groups producer Apollo Brown. "Blade of The Short Cut" was recorded in the span of a year while the trio traveled back and forth from Chicago and DC to record arguably Verbal Kent's most personal album.
"Word, on everything i love" is a promise where I’m from. In 2019 I wanted to properly reintroduce myself to my audience as Rob Cave with two EPs that would reflect who I am at my core. My EP "Word", produced by The Other Guys and "On Everything I Love" produced by Che Grand.
"On Everything I Love" is the Yin to "WORD’s" Yang. Where "Word" was precise, structured and personal, "On Everything I Love" is emotional, free form and communal. -Rob Cave
"OEIL" Features: Che Grand & Jack Davey on vocals and Seb Zillner on flute.
City For Sale is a breakup album. A relationship album. Instead of a woman its about my hometown...YOUR hometown...your old way of living. Growing apart from a place, from people, from who you once were. Because i'm from a currently gentrifying city that theme is on the surface of the album but the overall narrative is for any person that feels unfamiliar in a space that was currently familiar to them. This album is me finding my new comfort zone because I have to.
This City For Sale album is the first time I've produced an entire album on my own including making every beat. Even Donwill's "One Word No Spaces" LP (which I'm credited as the producer) was co produced and co arranged by Donwill. Thats something we always wanted to do. City For Sale is another personal goal for me. I've been afraid to do an entire album alone until now....if this shit is wack its all my fault. With that said this is my calling card album. This is the one I will hopefully be known for when its all said and done.
For Donwill’s HiPNOTT Records debut he teams up with his Tanya Morgan cohort Von Pea to tap into a bit of that group chemistry for himself. The duo locked in to create ‘One Word No Space’ which serves as the MC’s first full length solo outing since Don Cusack in High Fidelity (2010). Von Pea’s signature ‘bat crack’ sound provides an ample bed of hard drums and emotive loops for Don to bare his soul over and reintroduce himself to those who may not be in the know. Clocking in at 35 min the album is a jarring jaunt with high replay value and features that include Quelle Chris, MC Paul Barman, Theory Hazit, Von Pea, ilyas, Rob Cave and several other Lessondary spitters.

DC based producers The Other Guys have been very busy the last couple of years. They have produced and worked with artist like Skyzoo, Tanya Morgan, Homeboy Sandman, J-Live, Substantial, Wordsworth, Young Roddy and Kooley High. After first gaining notoriety with the release of their critically acclaimed Ep “To: You” with “Tanya Morgan” emcee /producer Von Pea, The Other Guys have established a reputation for bringing out the best in artist with their timeless production style
Now the trio bring you their first collaborative effort on HiPNOTT Records simply entitled “WORD”, a seven song banger.
Von Pea & The Other Guys reunite after the release of their acclaimed EP “To:You” (2014) and their full length LP “The Fiasco” (2017). The “Tanya Morgan” emcee and DMV production duo return with a 5 song EP entitled “I’m Good Luv, Enjoy” laced with the soulful samples, hard hitting drums, and clever rhymes the trio have been known to provide. The EP features fellow Lessondary Crew members Donwill and Rob Cave.
Von Pea & The Other Guys reunite for a follow up to their 2014 EP To:You. This time around the DMV production duo give us 10 full tracks for Brooklynati native Von Pea to rap over, with an additional track produced by Von Pea himself. The music on The Fiasco represents the same quality as their previous efforts, but sounds bit grittier and more stripped down from the jazzy soulful sounds of To:You. Rounding out the album, the fellas tapped the following friends for features: Donwill, Rob Cave, Skyzoo, J-Live, Verbal Kent, and Wordsworth.
After teaming up with The Other Guys on their hit summer single “Blow My Mind”, Von Pea (of Tanya Morgan) enlists the DMV duo to produce his latest solo album, To:You.
Laced with the soulful, smooth production of The Other Guys, To:You is a gift from Von Pea to... you. Speaking directly to the fans, Von’s raps are some of his best in recent Tanya Morgan history. Features on the album include Substantial, Kooley High, and the whole Lessondary crew on the posse cut “Connect Four aka Lessondary >>>”.
